PUZZLE: CRANES
Hint 1
The cranes dance and frolic, limbs akimbo. Note their position to get out of limbo.
Hint 2
The cranes change position like a flag in the breeze. The neck, legs and wings show the cipher with ease.
Hint 3
The bird is a signalman facing your way. A semaphore solves this with no delay.
How to solve it
The position of extended appendage (neck, legs or wings) is meant to mimic the position of flags used in semaphore code. When signaling numbers, A=1, B=2, etc. There are many examples of semaphore alphabets. You can follow this link to find a clear one: A semaphore alphabet
Solution
The message spelled out is: NEED (END WORD) (NUMBERS FOLLOW) 6 (END WORD) BEST (END WORD) SNIPERS (END WORD)
PUZZLE: CARDS WITH LINES
Hint 1
On one side of the cards, a scene becomes clear, but do not be fooled, no answers are here.
Hint 2
The lines are the key to solving the mystery. Match them all up and the answer is history.
Hint 3
Once all the lines match, you must have no fears. Put the letters in order and a sentence appears.
How to solve it
Match up the lines until all of the cards have been placed. Some are dead ends. Then, starting at one of the Chinese character emblems (it means “Wang Cong’er”) follow the line that goes all the way through all of the cards to the other emblem. Along the way, read the letters as they form the words of a sentence. The other side of the cards can be assembled into an image but it doesn’t solve the puzzle.

Solution
The message reads: to sabotage the cannons bring 8 troops

PUZZLE: GRID OF LETTERS
Hint 1
The message within seems jumbled and crazy, but walk the right path and it’s no longer is hazy.
Hint 2
A maze hides the message that reveals your next deed. Find the pattern to discover the patriots you need.
Hint 3
Up and over, down and around, the bottom middle letter is where the start can be found.
How to solve it
This is a maze puzzle in which you have to follow a pattern in order to read the message. You begin at the T in the middle of the bottom row. You go up and over to the right one letter to form the word “the”. After that, you go down one and over one, but then you have to go back up. You have to clear the letters you have already used, so you need to go up three letters. Once you have cleared the letters, you start to go left, again just clearing the letters you have already used. You continue on in this way, forming a larger and larger ‘horseshoe’ pattern as you go.
Solution
The squad you seek is fifteen men strong so you’ll need to bring more than that along. If the party’s too large you’ll get caught in a hurry, but twenty rebels can hide so send them without worry.

PUZZLE: ASSASSINATION MISSION
Hint 1
Not all the characters are what they appear. There may be more than one language here.
Hint 2
Pay close attention to the up and down lines. Within those symbols lies what you must find.
Hint 3
If you want to find vowels, look up and then down. Consonants are hidden the other way round.
Hint 4
The Samurai code is not one of glory. Look up this cipher and you won’t be sorry.
How to solve it
Hidden among the Chinese text are symbols known as “Chinese code” or “samurai code”. Vowels of the alphabet (A,E,I,O,U,Y) are represented by 1 to 6 vertical lines. Consonants are represented by adding horizontal lines according to how many letters away it is from the closest vowel. For example A is
then B is
. M
is three vertical lines (for I) plus four horizontal and N
adds one more horizontal

Solution
Read from upper right, downward, it reads: THE NUMBER OF ASSASSINS YOU SHOULD USE IS THREE

PUZZLE: COLORED SHAPES
Hint 1
The riddles are clues that will help you see what it will take to determine some other shapes you will make.
Hint 2
There are many shapes in this colorful square, but if you move them about you’ll find more shapes there.
Hint 3
Once you create shapes that aren’t wrong, adding some numbers will move you along.
Hint 4
Once the numbers are added, they have a story to tell. You will find the place in the alphabet that the number will dwell.
Hint 5
“Lucky numbers” is another clue. The way they’re written tells you what to do.
How to solve it. STEP 1:
This is a classic tangram puzzle with some numbers added. Each riddle tells you what shape to make with the tangram. When you solve the first riddle, enter the answer into the webpage https://theresystance.com/what-is-1.
How to solve it. STEP 2:
When you get the darkened image, you need to figure out how to rearrange the shapes to fill that image. You do not use yellow numbers.
How to solve it. STEP 3:
In the shape that you make, wherever two or more corners meet, add up those numbers.
How to solve it. STEP 4:
The equation K=Q+D-(T-J) written under the soldier image on the card that describes the “supply raid” mission will tell you what to do with this series of numbers. Replace the letters with their equivalent number (A=1, Z=26, etc) and you get 11=17+4-(20-10). This means that you should replace the series of numbers you get from the tangram shape with their equivalent letters. Those letters will spell a word. The third message “Lucky numbers” is a hint about spelling out a number.
How to solve it. STEP 5:
Then solve the second riddle https://theresystance.com/what-is-2 and make that shape and do the same thing with the numbers.
Solution
The first riddle answer is “horse”. The shapes are arranged like this:
When you add up the sets of numbers they are 4+2=6,3+3+3=9,0+6=6,19+1=20,2+23=25. 6,9,6,20,25. The letters they represent spell FIFTY. The second riddle answer is “sword”. The shapes are arranged like this:
When you add up the sets of numbers they are 19+0=19,2+3+0=5,8+14=22,5+0=5,13+1=14. 19,5,22,5,14. The letters they represent spell SEVEN. The number of troops to send on the Supply Raid is 57.
